Beautiful

Beauty does not seek perfection.
Instead, she sees imperfection
in all its glory.
Love is the same.
To him, it is a dance
where imperfection becomes art.
At times, the dancers will stumble.
If Love is true, then Beauty
will match her steps to his.
Neither dancer is perfect,
so each mistake
is a part of their performance.
With all their strengths
and all their weaknesses
their story will grow
like a delicate flower.
Beauty and Love
go hand in hand.
Light and Darkness
balanced and sure.
Beauty in the soul.
Love in the heart.
Their story is timeless.

On Love At First Sight

Love At First Sight

Does it exist? Is it a myth? Can you really, truly fall in love with someone in a matter of seconds? There must be a reason for all those stories. Right?
I have my own theory on why Love at first sight is a common theme in fairy tales. It expresses the innocence, kindness and compassion of the character.
Two people find each other, and instantly feel like they're meant to be. I suppose it's possible.
I may have experienced my first brush with this phenomenon at the Disney College Program. Within a few seconds of meeting someone, I felt like I could just be myself. The first time I didn't have to put up my guard, or feel compelled to do so.
Even though I was cynical and refused to believe that love could actually exist, now I wish that things could be that simple. And for a moment it was simple.  But moments are fleeting, and I refused to think that it was possible. So I pushed it aside. But maybe, just maybe, love at first sight does exist. Or, people can find one another, despite the distance, time and history they would have noticed with anyone else. Maybe that's what people mean by soul mate.
It's that one person, despite all you've been through, or allowed yourself to believe, who doesn't make you feel like you have to put on an act. The one person who seems to know, instantly that they want to be a part of your life, and you know that you want to be a part of theirs.

A Visit to the Library Polyvore set for Belle

I found a fanart of Belle on tumblr and loved the style so much that I created a Polyvore set! Unfortunately, I couldn't find the leather satchel with the rose on it like the artwork. I named the Polyvore set after the picture.

A Touching scene from OUAT

Warning, this sneak peak is a spoiler, but I had to put it here because it is a beautiful scene. In context, Belle is lost and has no idea who she is, Rumple is dying and decides to answer that question for her, before it may be too late. It's a very touching scene, and I'm putting up here as a model for my future writing and as a RumBelle treat for my followers.

RumBelle and Prejudice Part 2: In which the French family is invited to a charming ball

Disclaimer: I do not own Pride and Prejudice or Once Upon A Time. I just think putting them together would be fun.

The news came from Belle’s father the next morning. He had visited Prince Charming and discovered that he wouldhold a ball. Belle’s mother couldn’t have been happier and Belle’s father tookto his study for most of the day.
Snow and Belle looked through their wardrobe while Aurora and Ashley fought over a pair of shoes. Emma avoided them all, and managed to take a walk around the house before Aurora and Ashley forced her to get ready.
Belle’s blue gown seemed appropriate, as the occasion was not too formal. Snow also decided her pale ivory gown would be best. Once they were all ready, the French family got in the carriage and arrived at the large gallery where all of StoryBrooke was gathered.
Belle stepped down, and found that Prince Charming was waiting for them. But he wasn’t the only one. A tall, angular man stood by him, a scowl on his face. An elegant lady stood next to him, dressed in a very interesting gown.
“Welcome.” Prince Charming smiledand gave a bow. “It is an honor to meet your daughters, Mr. French. May I introduce my friend Mr. Gold, and next to him, my sister Regina.”
“It’s nice to meet you.” Mr. French smiled.
Belle watched Mr. Gold, who had not spoken a word, but seemed determined to stare painfully at them. Her mother tried to make conversation.
“I understand that you have a castle Mr. Gold.”
“I do.”
“And I’m sure you have many adventures to share with us.”
“My travels stay with me.”
Belle tried not to laugh, but she was soon distracted by the way Prince Charming stared at Snow. Snow, in turn, stared back with a smile.
“Shall we?” Prince Charming offered his hand to Snow, and she took it. Belle watched Mr. Gold walk in with Regina. Both were already whispering. She knew their kind very well. Arrogant and above the people around them. Belle couldn’t help but tell Red the moment she found her.
“He might not be that bad.” Red told Belle, “Although I did notice he won’t dance.”
“Perhaps it is above them.” Belle grinned and Red shook her head.
“You can’t always be that way Belle.”Red warned.
“But it’s so much fun.” Belle smiled, and noticed that she had caught Mr. Gold’s eye while turning her head.
“Belle. There you are.” Belle’s mother said as she walked toward them. “What do you think now. Snow and Charming make quite the pair.”
Belle tried not to roll her eyes. Her mother was matchmaking already, and she wanted no part of it. Especially since she had a good idea that her mother had not joined them only to gloat.
“Why don’t you talk to Mr. Gold Belle?”
“I’m afraid he doesn’t like to dance mother.” Belle said while staring at Mr. Gold.
“Then sit down somewhere if you don’t want to dance.” Mrs. French ordered.
It was a great idea. Belle found a seat, and was so distracted by her success in escaping her mother, that she didn’t notice Mr. Gold and Prince Charming sit nearby.
“Gold, I insist that you dance.”Prince Charming said, “You should at least talk to someone while you’re here.”
“You have been dancing with the beautiful girl, and I won’t get in the way. You’re wasting your time with me.”Mr. Gold said.
“What about her sister Belle? She’s very pretty too.”
“She isn’t beautiful enough to tempt me.”
“Gold!”
Belle got up and found Red immediately. After they laughed at the conversation. Belle looked up and saw that Mr. Gold was staring at her again.
“Did he think I was offended?” Belle laughed, “He really is arrogant.”
“And it looks like you proved me wrong.” Red grinned.
The French family left the ballroom with a happy Mrs. French, a shy but happy Snow and a triumphant Belle.

RumBelle and Prejudice Part 1: In which Prince Charming Comes to StoryBrooke

Disclaimer: I do not own Pride and Prejudice or Once Upon A Time. I just thought it would be entertaining to put them together.

It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife. Belle had been told this by her mother, her whole life and her sisters, Snow, Aurora, Ashley and Emma had heard it almost as often. Ashley and Aurora had their way of keeping their mother happy, going to see the princes that came to town, visiting to patrol the borders of Fairy Tale Land. Emma was always voicing her opinion and made a conclusion long ago that society was best observed from afar than meddled with. Belle’s only comfort, besides her father was Snow. She was Belle’s older sister and confidant. Belle could tell Snow anything, from her complaints about their hysterical mother to her favorite stories and books. Books were Belle’s other comfort. She didn’t believe she was a great reader, but she loved her stories just the same.
It all started when Prince Charming came to down. Belle heard her mother’s opinion on the event before she was even positive it was true. After hearing enough gossip to last a life time, Belle went in search of Red, her best friend and found that Prince Charming was indeed coming to their little town of Storybrooke. Belle woke the next morning, and found her parents in the dining room, discussing the plan over breakfast.
“You must introduce him to the girls!” Mrs. French exclaimed while she poured a cup of tea.
“My dear, I would do anything to keep you calm.” Mr. French teased and Belle hid a smile.
Snow walked in and caught Belle’s grin, hiding a laugh of her own.
“Oh father do let us meet him!” Aurora rushed in with Ashley following close behind.
“But of course my dear.” Mr French said, “It has already been decided.
Belle took her book to the other room, where muffled squeals and giggles could be heard. Snow followed her and sipped a cup of tea.
“What are you thinking Belle?” Snow asked while Belle put her book down.
“I’m thinking that the prince will fall for you immediately.” Belle answered with a mischievous grin.
“You know I don’t believe in love at first sight.” Snow said blushing.
“But you are interested in this news.” Belle said.
“And you’re not?” Snow asked with a laugh.
“It is exciting.” Belle said, “But I doubt it will have much to do with me.”
“You can’t mean that.” Snow said
“Oh but I do. And I also think a walk would be best right now, or we will never hear the end of Mr. Charming.”

Motivation

So I may have been inspired by the recent Once Upon A Time Promo.
Motivation is the key to everything in a character's story. An unmotivated character never grows or changes and never makes the history of the novel. Motivation makes people brave, and gives them courage to achieve their goals and dreams.
This is the first step in creating a character. They must have a reason to journey, to fight and to discover the answers to the story's questions. This is the key element to a believable character. Motivation.

OUAT Challenge Day 25 - Who is your least favorite fairytale character and why?

Cinderella/Ashley

I have never liked the fairy tale much, but in regards to the show, Cinderella never does anything for herself and complains all the time. The only scenes that Cinderella has been in, she's unhappy and complaining about something. First she wants her baby, which Emma does something about. Then she wants a break from the baby, which Ruby does something about. But even then she's not satisfied and she's complaining about never seeing her boyfriend enough, which Sean does something about. She lets life happen to her, but never does anything for herself. The only thing she did was break into Mr. Gold's shop, but even then she didn't do anything about the consequences. She makes herself a constant victim, always complaining, but never doing anything about it.

OUAT Challenge Day 24: Who would be your three best friends in Storybrooke?

Belle, August/Pinocchio  and Henry.

All of them love stories in their own way. Belle likes books, so we could talk for hours about what we've read and swap books over iced tea. I love to write, and I would probably talk with August about how to overcome writer's block, draw inspiration from the world and listen to his stories of all the places he has seen. Henry believes in the power of stories and he likes fairy tales. We could talk about different versions of the fairy tales and what they mean.

I would probably hang around Mary Margret/Snow White and Emma also. They seem very cool in their different personalities. Mary Margret is nice and would probably have a lot of fun stories about classes she's taught, and her life as Snow White. Emma and I have a lot in common so I think we'd get along well and talk about believing in yourself and staying strong.

OUAT Challenge Day 23 : Make a graphic advertising OUAT

I chose to add Henry in the advertisement, because I think he is the most under-appreciated character in the series right now. It all started with Henry and the story book.

OUAT Challenge Day 22 - If you could meet an actor from the show, who would it be?

I would love to meet Ginnifer Goodwin. She seems very fun and down to Earth, and she loves Disney just as much as I do, if not more so. She also reads the Hunger Games, Harry Potter and loves fairy tale literature. I have a feeling we could talk for hours about books and movies. I thought it was cool that Snow White is her favorite princess and she read many different versions to prepare for her role. You can tell she enjoys being Snow White.

Day 21: What is your favorite Story Brooke storyline?

I have several.
I like when Hansel and Gretel find their father in "True North".  They achieved a happy ending, even during the curse, because they were always searching for each other.
I like Emma's story in "Desperate Souls." Her struggle to be there for Henry and become a part of his life is a really powerful story to show how much Emma has grown.
Leroy's success at selling candles in "Dreamy" shows his determination to achieve something and make a positive difference in Story Brooke.

The most recent storyline with Belle in "The Crocodile" is a new favorite. The way Belle finally ventures out into the world and tries to find a place of her own. "A life, a job." She stands up for herself and finds something she loves to do. It's also important that Rumple/ Mr. Gold finally tells Belle the truth and they both agree to discover who they are for awhile, but still find ways to spend some time together.

OUAT Challenge Day 20: What character do you think you're like the most?

Emma.

We have a similar reaction to developing trust and confidence. Emma is the hero of the story, but she doesn't believe she is. She also pushes people away if she thinks they are too close. But it's more than just the act of invincibility Emma puts on, it's also the emotions that she pushes away. She does care a lot for the people around her, but her way of showing it is different from the average display of affection. She also has a strong opinion about staying true to who you are. Her advice to Ashley/ Cinderella was heartfelt and real, because it wasn't just something she said, it was something she experienced. Emma has gone through her life in a cynical and solitary manner, but she also stays true to herself in terms of personality. She knows who she is, and doesn't hide that at all, but she does hide feelings and insecurities to stay strong in tough times.

Belle

I think I have a little of Belle's personality as well. Not just my love of books, but my curiosity and determination remind me of Belle. Also, the way Belle views people is similar to mine, the inside of a person is not always easy to see, but it is more important than outside appearance. Truly loving someone is accepting both the bad and the good. Flaws are just as important as positive characteristics. She's also a dreamer, which I'm known for.

OUAT Challenge Day 19: Your Favorite Ship

Rumple and Belle (RumBelle)

Beauty and the Beast is my favorite fairy tale, but that's not the only reason I enjoy watching Belle and Rumplestiltskin on screen. The writers explained that Belle and Rumple's relationship was based on the idea of bringing a beautiful soul and a corrupted soul together. The result was Belle and Rumplestiltskin. Belle is bright and happy while Rumple is twisted and depressed. Convinced that no one can love him, Rumple shows a fear of bringing anyone close to him, but does exactly that when he makes a deal with Belle that she will go with him forever and clean the castle for the rest of her life to save her people.
Belle catches on that Rumple is lonely and she, being the curious person that she is, slowly attempts to get to know him, and help him see what she sees. To Belle, Rumple is not a monster, but a misunderstood and lonely person. She tries to convince him of that and almost succeeds until Rumple's own illusion of the world gets in the way.
Rumple's fear of being around others and allowing them to know him blinds him to Belle's genuine affection and convinces him that she only wants to find his weakness. This plays on later in the series when Belle tells Rumple to make a promise he doesn't keep and continues  to try convincing him he isn't a monster.
Their relationship is complicated and confusing, but both Belle and Rumple find understanding about one another and learn at the same pace what a relationship is like.

OUAT Challenge Day 18: Who is your least favorite villian and why?

King George

He is the most ruthless of the villains, because he has no heart. Not only does he trick Charming, but he curses Snow White, kills Charming's mother and dares to tell Snow White that he was in love. The priorities of King George are possibly even more screwed up than Regina and Rumple. The difference between him and the two main villains involves caring for someone and making wrong choices about it. Both Regina and Rumple act, believing that they are protecting or avenging someone they love, but King George acts like a blood thirsty man with no priorities.

OUAT Challenge Day 17 : Favorite quote from a villain

"Love has killed more than any disease." - Rumplestiltskin

I can't really explain why I like this quote. It's deep.
