Like Father Like Daughter

To celebrate Father's Day, I'd like to tell you where my love of stories started: my Dad.
When I was little, my Dad would read to me, and he was always there to help me with homework. He introduced me to great works of literature, like The Hobbit, The Chronicles of Narnia and A Wrinkle in Time. When I was ten, I brought Harry Potter home, and it got to the point that Dad would finish reading the books before I did! We loved talking about the books and making up theories for the next release. He also introduced me to Marvel comics and the Magic card game. We would play Magic together and Dad would answer my questions about The Xmen, Spider Man and Doctor Strange.
As I got older, he recommended epic stories to read like The Lord of Rings, Dune and Ender's Game. We talked about the detail and the well written plots of those stories. Today, Dad and I talk about writing, and we still recommend books to each other. Reading, writing and talking about stories with my Daddy are some of my favorite memories.
I'm so proud of him for publishing his first novel, and I'm so grateful that we share this hobby.

(My Dad also introduced me to video games ^_^)

Nostalgic Song: For Good

My Mom and I went to see Wicked and when the actresses sang this song, I couldn't help but remember all the wonderful people I knew, and who knew me at one point. The lyrics really say it all. Sometimes people come into our lives for a reason, and give us something to learn about life and ourselves. I dedicate this song to my Disney friends, from both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. Without them, I wouldn't be as strong as I am today. I wouldn't have discovered that there were people just like me, and it was okay to be who I am. I also dedicate this song to my two best friends Becca and Miriam. Without them I wouldn't have believed in myself through my darkest times. All these people came into my life and changed me for good.

A familiar discovery

While browsing through TradesMart, I happened to discover a familiar looking dog staring at me from a DVD cover. WishBone was one of my favorite programs on TV when I got home from school. I read the books, and I even had a cute little stuffed animal of WishBone! I loved reading from the beginning, and having a cute little dog talk about stories just added to the fun. Anyway, here's a little something to revive childhood memories :)

WishBone will always be one of the best kids' shows on television and Soccer the dog will be forever remembered as a curious and clever pup!
