Amazing Kdrama dialogue

I've seen a lot of Kdrama and witnessed some amazing dialogue, but the most recent Kdrama Cheongdam-dong Alice just triumphed over every single scene I have been amazed by.

In context, Cheongdam-dong Alice is the story of Se Kyung, who is the Alice of the story. She is poor and loves fashion. One day, she decides to enter the Wonderland of Cheongdam and become a famous designer. In order to do this, she takes advice from a former enemy in High School who has achieved the finer life and has invented a formula to make it happen. She is the Queen of Hearts in the story She tells Se Kyung that she must find a "white rabbit" to escort her into the finer life.
Enter Seung Jo, the mad hatter character who poses as Secretary Kim to avoid being treated differently by Se Kyung. Once he falls for her, he eventually has to reveal this secret. He has gone from the bottom of the ladder to the top as president of Artemis, a well known and famous fashion brand.
Because Se Kyung doesn't know he is the president Jean Thierry Cha, she seeks another White Rabbit and succeeds in becoming well known to a famous designer who becomes the White Rabbit. Misunderstanding Se Kyung's intentions, the White Rabbit believes that she is a gold digger out for an opportunity for money. This continues once he discovers that Secretary Kim is Jean Thierry Cha, and he believes that Se Kyung has known this all along.
At the same time, Se Kyung's friend tells her who Secretary Kim is, before he does, and begins to feel guilty after he finally admits to the lie, and confesses his feelings for her. So she does what anyone racked with guilt would do, she avoids him and runs away. She also tells him that he is too above her in status.
Meanwhile, the White Rabbit won't let her relationship with Jean Thierry Cha go without consequences, and he bribes her to leave and go to a fashion school if she will stay away from him. After the contract is laid out in front of her, Se Kyung proceeds to tell the White Rabbit that her feelings and Seung Jo's feelings are genuine, but the White Rabbit doesn't listen and tells her that she is dirty because she is a poor person in love with a rich person.
Se Kyung is left to choose, leave for France, or be with someone she loves, but she is still racked with guilt, and every attempt Seung Jo makes to get close to her, she runs away. Seung Jo doesn't give up and prepares a major dinner to confess directly, but Se Kyung doesn't show up. After a pep talk from both his friends and Se Kyung's friends, he decides to find her.
After they track her down, Seung Jo finds her at the bottom of a stair well. He runs down the stairs (symbolically showing that he has left the pedestal of his status) and stands in front of a surprised Se Kyung, ready to confess. When he does, this is what he says:
"Don't go!  Today I was going to confess to you. I was going to play a really cool movie ,and following the script ,I was going to do a  really cool confession! I used too think that love was something you felt only at first sight. I didn't know that you could drown in it slowly . If love had a time limit, I want my love to last ten thousand years. Until the day I die, will you love me? I don't want ththat. Until the day I die, I will love you! And, well ,I was going to confess using this cool script, But none of this is right. That kind of stuff isn't me. I am a coward, because the person I love might throw me away. They might leave me. I am afraid. I get scared! When I was little, my mother let go of my hand and left me. Once, the person I loved suddenly packed her bags and left. These things haunt my dreams.  Sometimes I'm so afraid that I turn the lights on. Now you know. I am not a cool CEO. I am not a prince who can save you. I'm just someone who loves Se Kyung.  An ordinary man. Se Kyung, I love you to the point of being annoying. So if you are able to accept a person like me, decide, Ms Se Kyung. Please, instead of abandoning me, instead of running away. Se Kyung, rescue me."

After hearing this, Se Kyung begins to cry and asks him if he can wait for an hour. She runs back to the White Rabbit and tells him:
"You said love is like a name. Like the thousands of thousands names in the world, doesn’t matter what you call it, it is the mind of the person saying it. You’re right. My feelings for Cha Seung-Jo are ugly. But ugly love is still love. So, from now on these feelings of mine for Cha Seung-Jo, I will call it ugly love. You said I could call it whatever I like so I will. It may be ugly, but it’s my love for Cha Seung-Jo. So YOU give up. I will never give up my ugly love."

These monologues are absolutely amazing!

As a side note: These actors do a great job, and they are so cute together

Kdrama month prompt 13: Your Favorite "I Love You."

Kim Do Jin- "I'm going to start a one sided love."
Seo Yi Soo- "Who is . . .?"
Kim Do Jin- "You."
Seo Yi Soo- "Me?"
Kim Do Jin- "Don't reject me."
(From A Gentleman's Dignity, Episode 3)

This is one of the most cleverly written confessions, and well performed moments in a Kdrama that I have ever seen. What I love about the dialogue, is that Kim Do Jin already knows that Seo Yi Soo has a one sided love with her friend's boyfriend, and is very careful to keep that secret. Once Kim Do Jin finds out about it, he uses that fact about her to determine her view on relationships and love, and approaches her in a way that she can deal with because of her pessimistic expectations. One sided love soon becomes a frequent topic between them, and Kim Do Jin claims to never have had that problem. Then he falls for Seo Yi Soo and, knowing that she is dealing with feelings for another, is determined to prove her wrong about her view on love. As the series progresses, he even gives her a manual to follow, based on his own experiences, and tells her to use it if she does fall for him.

Manual for One-Sided Love by Kim Do Jin
1. Think about me all day without eating or sleeping.
2. If I don’t answer the phone or respond to a text, get hurt and be anxious.
3. Try hanging around my office or house while hoping you run into me.
4. Even if you see me, watch me endlessly from far away. Lovingly.
5. If I talk to another woman, become crazy with jealousy and consider crashing into her with your car.
6. Obtain my elementary, middle and high school graduation photo no matter how and put it in your wallet.
7. Come to my house abruptly sometimes and make my heart flutter.

Kdrama month prompt 11: Your Favorite Dialogue

My Princess: Episode 4

The scene where Lee Seol's letter is read as a prayer request while Park Hae Young and Lee Seol are trying to get her letter back before her mother reads it. Still one of the most memorable scenes in the drama :)

Priest: This person wrote a letter. It is not important how long it is, but what the heart has written. Okay, I will begin reading. Mom. It's me Seol.
(Lee Seol's mother looks at her in surprise.)
Priest: I guess this person calls the Lord "mom"
(Lee Seol's mouth drops open and she waves at the priest, as if to quiet him)
Priest: Well, mother or father  . . . I will continue reading.
(Lee Seol crosses her hands and shakes her head)
Priest: First, go to the kitchen.
(Park Hae Young sits down next to Lee Seol)
Park Hae Young (whispering): Hey it wasn't there. What happened?
Priest:  . . . get a glass of water
Park Hae Young (whispering): What? Do you have to go?
Priest: If you open the drawer without the handle, you'll see the medication to calm you down.
(Lee Seol's mom looks at her again)
Priest: What is this person saying? Take that first. Did you take it? Then, calm down and keep reading.
(Lee Seol bows her head in shame)
Priest: Mom, by the time you read this letter, I'll be on a plane headed to Egypt.
(Park Hae Young's eyes widen and Lee Seol shakes her head while her mom listens)
Park Hae Young (whispering): How did this happen?
Priest: Truthfully, I've always wanted to go.
(Now Lee Seol's mom has caught on)
Priest: But because you might be heartbroken, I couldn't say anything. From what I have read, I think this person is trying to run away from home.
(Park Hae Young nudges Lee Seol)
Preist: Seol's mother. Isn't that congregant Kim Da Bok? Are you here today congregant Kim Da Bok?
Seol's Mother: Yes . . . I'm  . . . right here.
(Park Hae Young nudges Lee Seol again)
Priest: It seems your daughter has run away from home.
Seol's Mother: Well that is . . .
(Park Hae Young and Lee Seol bolt for the door. And Lee Seol's mother turns around.)
Seol's Mother: Seol! You! You two better stop right there!
(She chases them out to the front of the church.)

This was one of the best scenes and so unexpected.

Kdrama month prompt 9: Your Favorite Line/s by a Male Third Wheel

“Don’t bow your head to anyone. Don’t Cry. Don’t kneel for anyone. It will become a habit. Once it becomes a habit, it will be hard to fix.” - Moon Jae Shin

This quote means a lot to me because it is very true. This is also a way that Moon Jae Shin remembers his brother and follows his brother's advice so his ideals will not be forgotten. His brother always told him not to make bad choices a habit. In this particular moment, Moon Jae Shin is telling Kim Yoon Hee not to let anyone walk all over her, and in doing so, he has expressed a deep concern for Kim Yoon Hee's struggle to win the archery tournament. This line also reveals an important aspect of Moon Jae Shin's character. Around the school, he is known as Crazy Horse, because he never showed up to classes on time or in uniform. He did whatever he pleased and stayed that way, even though he was smart enough to be the head student, he focused on what was important to him, keeping his brother's dream alive, and watching out for Kim Yoon Hee.

Kdrama month prompt 7: Your Favorite Line/s by a Male Lead Character

“You’re listening now, aren’t you? It’s so bright here, and your side is so dark that I can’t see you. Please, don’t be where I can’t see you! Come to where I can see you. Give me permission to see you.” – Tae Kyung

I love this quote because it relates to an earlier scene where Tae Kyung found out that Go Mi Nam liked him. His way of admitting his feelings was to tell Go Mi Nam that he could see her clearly and he gave her permission to like him. This may seem to be a pompous line to some people, but Go Mi Nam was struggling with her feelings for Tae Kyung and didn't believe that she should be where he could see her, because he was a star, while she was the moon. He could shine bright, but Go Mi Nam was convinced she couldn't shine on her own.
Something similar is going on in this scene. Tae Kyung is asking for permission to see her. This simple question is a very symbolic line that shows not only how much Tae Kyung has changed, but also how much he cares for her. This dialogue also fits the scene because Tae Kyung is standing on stage, in the spotlight, while Go Mi Nam is somewhere in the crowd, in the dark.
